The Desert (in Bloom)
Out of dry, caked earth and arid, shifting sand life suddenly emerges. Green shoots form into plants and in the spring they unfurl their unique, brightly colored blossoms. It is the flowering of the desert, and there is nothing else like it. It has been an annual pilgrimage of sorts for me, witnessing this miracle of new life. One of the perks of returning to California is returning to one of my favorite places in the spring – Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. Enjoy some of the beautiful blooms I captured this March in my photo gallery and join me on my blog as I contemplate the desert in bloom.
